Dr. McDermott

Dr. McDermott loves working with all of her patients, adults and children, and bringing them joy by helping them achieve their dream smiles! She is grateful everyday she gets to work with her patients and their families and seeing the impact their new smiles make on their life and confidence. Working with her amazing team and seeing her patients with their new smiles makes every day special.

Dr. McDermott graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. She took a brief hiatus to work in Toronto, Canada to support her husband while he was working on his post-doctoral research project. She then returned to school at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree graduating summa cum laude in 2012 and her Master of Science in Orthodontics in 2015.

Following graduation, she worked as an Orthodontist in Maryland in conjunction with her husband’s job in cancer research. However, after a dozen years of moving and being away from home, she and her husband were grateful for the opportunity to find an orthodontic position at home. She came back to the Madison area in late 2017. When the opportunity arose to join the amazing team of Orthodontists at OSM, she couldn’t refuse. She is so excited to work alongside Drs. Peterson, Bird and Knutson and is looking forward to continuing the excellent orthodontic care to all current and future patients.

She was born and raised in Germantown, WI and is excited to raise her family here in Wisconsin as well. She and her husband have a young son and daughter as well as a new puppy to commandeer all of their free time! They enjoy travelling, playing outdoors, watching the Badgers and Packers, watching movies and exploring all the wonderful food and theatre options the area has to offer.
