About Dr. Peterson

Steven D. Peterson, D.D.S., M.S., A.B.O. Board Certified

Dr. Peterson received his Bachelor of Science degree from Luther College in 1977. In 1981, he graduated from the University of Iowa with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Continuing his studies at University of Iowa, Dr. Peterson completed his Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Training in 1983. He practiced pedriatric dentistry from 1983 to 1990 in Burlington, Iowa. He went on to the University of Toronto, where he earned his Master of Science in Orthodontics in 1990.

He is a former president of the Dane County Dental Society, and an active member of both the American Association of Orthodontists and the Wisconsin Society of Orthodontists. He is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy— a national honorary organization recognizing excellence in dentistry. Dr. Peterson has been practicing orthodontics in the Madison area since 1993. Dr. Peterson is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He treats patients at the Gammon Road, Northport Drive, and Verona offices.

Dr. Peterson is married, a father of four girls, and mostly recently became a grandfather. In his free time, Dr. Peterson enjoys golfing, swimming, and watching both the Badger and Hawkeye games.
